Emulation

To create my emulation, i created a drawing that fitted in with my theme of the book cover, which is a zoo. I inked two drawings in black ink, then i scanned them into Photoshop.

I used blue for one of the inked layers and pink for the other. I layered them on top of each other and multiplied the layers, to get a screen print effect.

I decided to add more to the blue inked layer to make it look more busy. These are the separate layers that i created to make my emulation.

I added a texture to the background of this piece to give it a hand made feel to it.

This is my final emulation.

Watercolour -Zookeeper

I drew out the image of the zookeeper, using just a pencil.

After I had drawn the zookeeper out, I decided to use watercolour to colour him in. I used the Same colours as what was on the image i had drawn out.

Copy of Joohee Yoon "Beastly Verse"

I decided to copy this as well. I inked out the different colours of the image on separate lay out paper.

Once i had done that i scanned them into Photoshop to change the colours.

I layered them on top of each other and multiplied the layers to create my copy.

This is my final copy.

Second Copy

This is another copy that i created, using watercolour. I drew out this image in stages, making sure that i added the details of the image. Once i had drawn it out i coloured it in using watercolours and i added detail as well using watercolours. Once i had finished watercolouring my drawing i went over it in black fineliner to make it stand out.

Copy

This is one of the pieces that i have chosen to do for my copy. I decided to do this for my copy because i wanted to do the same design technique that has been used to created this piece. To create this copy, I firstly drew out the design of the rabbits first a couple of times. I did this so that I could see which one of the four was more like the copy. 

After I had drawn out the rabbits, I then went over the pencil drawings with fineliner pen, so that I could get more detail on the drawings and so I would be able to see them as well, for when i came to colour them.

After I had finished going over the drawings with fineliner, I then went onto colour them. I used watercolour to do this. I tried out different shades of the colours from the piece i am copying, so that i could find the right colour that was similar.

This is a flat plan of my story. I created little scamps of what each page in the story could look like. This will help me to develop my ideas.

This is the flat plan I created of the children's book, The Hungry Caterpillar. I created this flat plan of the children's book, so that i could see the different elements of the story and see how many different double pages and single pages have been used. This will help me when i come to design my own flat plan for my story.

These are the crocodile characters that i have created for my work. I drew them out first and then watercoloured them in.
